PLEASE JOIN US — Jan 12th to learn about Precinct Delegates

From our President, Bob Cushman, for a special message about our meeting January 12th at the Northville Public Library:

Dear friends, neighbors and fellow citizens,
You are politically aware. You are conservative. You know what the Bill of Rights says and you believe we should follow the Constitution.  Regrettably, you have had your hopes dashed several times in the last few years. You had heard that Congress has the “power of the purse” but were dismayed that they have declined to exercise that power in the last few years.  You worry about your children’s and/or grand-children’s future.  You may or may not know how many zeros there are in a “trillion” but you know that the National Debt ($18,811,710,000.00 as of Jan. 5, 2016) is a number too big to be paid back if the debt were payable in full tomorrow. You have watched our state government, one in which the House, the Senate and the Governor’s office are primarily populated with “Republicans”, have continually fought to raise taxes. You know that in spite of the fact that the State of Michigan takes in about 6.5 Billion dollars more per year than 4 years ago, we could not find the 1.2 billion dollars to fix our roads without the “need” for a tax increase.  You wonder how this situation came to pass.  Perhaps you, like me, have voted straight Party Republican at all General elections and cannot understand how we have arrived in our present state of affairs.
I, Bob Cushman, have a confession to make.  While I have voted for Republicans in all general elections for more than 4 decades, I had never voted in a Primary, never took the time to research judges, school board nominees, or other “minor” public office pursuers, until the last 5 years. Eight years I had no idea what a Precinct Delegate was.  I, Bob Cushman, had failed my society, one in which I have loved but neglected.  I have learned, the hard way, that this wonderful “Government of the people, by the people, for the people” takes two major things to survive:
1.    A citizenry that is informed
2.    A Citizenry that is willing to become involved
I have learned that just voting is not enough.  I am contrite, humbled and loudly profess my apologies to you and all in our Society.
Going forward, I pledge to do all that I can to correct my account deficit in accomplishing my civic responsibilities.  I have served four years as a Republican Precinct delegate for Northville Township. Hitherto, chasing my education, my career and my family was a worthy occupier of my time but what long term benefits are there, if we fail our Society and our government continues to become an over-bearing, over-taxing and over-controlling, self-enhancing, cancerous monster.
I urge you to attend the Northville Republicans Club meeting next Tuesday, January 12 at the Northville Library at 7 PM.  We will discuss the very real and very important role of “Precinct Delegate”.  Our presenter will be Matt Maddock, a strong Conservative.  Matt is someone that strongly supports the Republican Platform and has vowed he “will always vote the Republican Party Platform, no matter what.”  Matt was inspired at an early age to enter the business world. He has been a small business owner (President of A-1 Bail Bonds) for the past 24 years. He has employed over 60 people and is also a Licensed Private Detective. He has been an outspoken grass roots Conservative voice for the past 19 years.

Regardless of whether you are a Precinct Delegate, might want to become one or have never heard of the term, we invite you to attend. Bring a civic minded friend!  During the course of the meeting, we will be signing up people with the Precinct Delegate – state required Affidavit of Identity form and we will be happy to deliver the paperwork to your County Clerk’s Office. We will have Notary Publics available to “Notarize” your paperwork.

We look forward to seeing you!

Bob Cushman

Wisdom From Our Founding Fathers

“A nation of well-informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the region of ignorance that tyranny begins.” – Benjamin Franklin
