Ingrid Jacques has an intriguing column, discussing Rep. Tim Kelly’s plan to open school choice to all parents in the State of Michigan. When it was attempted in New Orleans, it allowed the schools to recast and reform into something better than they were.
DPS is hopelessly broken. Notwithstanding a series of emergency managers, they continue to rack up mountains of debt. It’s tough to get the legislature to agree to provide the money to make the debt go away, but providing a reform that should eliminate debt in the future might be enticing.
